Rio de Janero

I am now in Rio, me and Maya skipped the Ihla because the wheather forecast was bad.
This is a fabulouse city, the beaches are beautiful, the houses are nice and of course the people. And they are really really friendly and helpful and everybody is relaxed even if it is a big city. The men are also gorgeous just like in Sao Paulo.
But just a feet away from all the glamour of the city we can see the favelas, the poor neighbourhoods. And they look horrible, aparently they often dont have watersupplies or proper drainage. And they are very dangerous, the drug lords rule the streets and if you go in without protection, they might shoot you just because they dont know you.
Me and Maya decided to stay in the safest part of town, also the most expensive. We are in Ipanema, close to the beach and all the night life. we are paying like 14 dollars a night for the hotel, which almost made us faint but that is the going rate for a secure neighbourhood. So we pay this.
We met again our french friends from Parati, very nice. On sunday we will meet Liran (israel) again, he was with us in Bolivia in the jungle.
I dont know how long i will stay, we will see.
