Today i am in North Brasil and finally, FINALLY i have some real sun. Me and Maya have spent the last days at the beach. It is so great. 30 degrees and beautiful people all around. We plan to spend the weekend here in Salvador with Sabrina, a brasilian girl we met in the airplane, and Juliana another brasilian girl who is a friend of one of our friends in Brasilia, like I said the brasilian people are just amazing, so welcoming and friendly.

My plans have changed a bit. I love Brasil so i am staying longer here, at least 3 more weeks. Then i am delaying my flights to Europe until the 16th. Then i will spend couple of days in Holland and then visit copenhagen and hopefully also one day in Lund. I want to fly home the 24 of november for my moms birthday

Take care Stella

My time in Brasilia

Me and Maya had a really good time in Brasilia, we stayed with Tiago and his mother Ana. The brasilians really know how to be hosts and how to make you feel welcome. We spent most of the time with Tiago, his girlfriend Juliana and Alexandre and Sue. They are really sweet all of them and took us out most of the time and showed us around. The have alot of friends that are lovely.
The first night (thursday) we went to a pub called UK-Brazlil and then to a Forro club. Forro is a type of music from north Brazil that has a great rythm but allows absolutly no space between people, but personal space really isnt an issue for people here.
The second day we went swimming in a nice park, Parke de Cidade. In the evening we went to Maiugo bar and ate Brazilian food, carne seca]
The third day we ate tradiciional food, feijoada and did a tourist tour and saw the tower, cathedral, the parlament and supreme court. Brasilia is the capital and has a lot of organisation and all the goverment buildings. We also saw Lulas house (the president)and a very beautiful bridge.
On sunday we went to a place in the national parque, it is called Pocco azul, and has a beautiful waterfal. We jumped from like 7 meters into the water and it was great. Poor Maya didnt lend verywell, she landed on her ass and still today has a great bluemark on heir ass. It is very funny.
We then went to a Brazilian barbeque at Julianas house and the food was great.
On monday we did a lot of reading and used the internet and in the evening had a last dinner with everybody. We ate pizzas at a great place, where you eat as you can for one price and the best part was in the end when we ate pizza with chocolate (believe me it is excellent) The food in Brazil is so GOOD.
We were very sad to leave.
Now we are in Salvador and the weather is great and so are the beaches. but we still miss our friends in Brasilia.
Take care everybody

I am now in the capital of Brasil, Brasilia. Me and Maya are staying with her friend Tiago and his mother. We are having a great time, yesterday we went out to dance foho, a really cool brasilian dance which like samba includes absoloutly no distance between dance partners.
Today we are going to a natural swimming pool with tiago and his friends and tomorrow we will visit the Chapada, a national park close by with Tiago, his girlfriend Juliana and other Brasilians.

Leaving Rio

Hello my friends
after a fabulous week in rio me and maya flytomorrow to Brasilia, maya has two friends there that are going to host us and then we will all probably go together to a national park that is close by.
Rio is great, we stayedin a room with 2 irish girls luice and clodagh. We stayed in expensive but safe part of town, ipanema. we went out a lot, the first evening to Melts, thesecond to a great nightclub in lapa called scenarium, it is in an old house and full of antique furnitures and they had a live band. the 3 night we went to lapa again, first to a superhero costume party. i was superwoman and mayabatwoman. it was great, only locals and us and nobody spoke english. we then went to a hip hop club and there we got robbed. I didnt have a lot of moneyonly like 25 dollars and a disposable camera. but they took mayas glasses. all this was in my bag but i didnt notice it. we are actually very happy we were only pickpocked but not robbed with violence.

Monday was the onlysunny day but we didnt spend it on the beach. the morning we spent in the hospital (maya was sick but she is fine now) and the afternoon at the police station making a report. We first went to the wrong police station, this was the militay police station. they were very helpful though, they phoned the tourist police and they came to pick us up. So we waited 1 hour in the oficcers office, which was very funny cause all the time some policemen came in, apparently for no reason, to check us out.

Tuesday we went to a boat trip along the coast of Rio. it was an all you can eat and drink party that i had won tickets for. so we danced and swam all day long. so i did get a chance to use my new fabulouse bikini. it is with the most material i could find, it doesnt cover up my whole ass but most of it. for brasil this is very modest buti dont think i can use it at home.

our last day we went to see the stature of jesus, of course it was cloudy.

Tomorrow we will fly to brasilia, it is a 2 hour flight but costs only 70 dollars. Then we are going to norht brasil where the wheather is more tropical.

take care everybody

Rio de Janero

I am now in Rio, me and Maya skipped the Ihla because the wheather forecast was bad.
This is a fabulouse city, the beaches are beautiful, the houses are nice and of course the people. And they are really really friendly and helpful and everybody is relaxed even if it is a big city. The men are also gorgeous just like in Sao Paulo.
But just a feet away from all the glamour of the city we can see the favelas, the poor neighbourhoods. And they look horrible, aparently they often dont have watersupplies or proper drainage. And they are very dangerous, the drug lords rule the streets and if you go in without protection, they might shoot you just because they dont know you.
Me and Maya decided to stay in the safest part of town, also the most expensive. We are in Ipanema, close to the beach and all the night life. we are paying like 14 dollars a night for the hotel, which almost made us faint but that is the going rate for a secure neighbourhood. So we pay this.
We met again our french friends from Parati, very nice. On sunday we will meet Liran (israel) again, he was with us in Bolivia in the jungle.
I dont know how long i will stay, we will see.
Take care everybody

Parati and Trinidad

Hello hello
I am now in a beautiful little town close to Rio de Janeiro. It is called Parati. Is is by the beach but it has been raining the whole time. Hum, not what i wanted. Yesterday me and May took a boat trip to the islands with 4 kids from England (Sarah, Claire, Alex and Mark) and 3 french kids ( Gerome, Sykvian and Jessica) and a brazilan guy Luis.
It started to rain so what w]as there to do but try the brazilian national drink Cabrinina and have some fun.
Today we visited an amazing place, the beach Trinidad. We walked around and until 3 o clock the wheather was okei, we saw a poisoned snake, a natural swimming pool in the ocean and a magnificent view with huge waves breaking on the rocks.
Then rain started pooring down and we had to leave.
The plan now is
Tomorrow if it is sunny we will visit Ihla Grande, if it is raining we go straight to Rio De Janeiro. And if it continues to rain we hed straight to the north of Brazil in a few days cause this is not what i am looking for.
Take care everybody and
my friends please write to me, i want to hear how you are.

Sao Paulo

The last few days have been absoloutly wild. Me, Maya and Leo have been partying every night in this amazing city. This is one of my favorite times here in south america, and i have Leonora to thank for that, for hosting us and showing us around.
I love the Brazilians people, they are so funny, open and friendly. i am starting to understand them better as well, the pronontiation is very tough though.

But everything is so expensive here, jesus. After bolivia this is a shock.

Tomorrow i go to Parati then Ihla Grande for the beach and then to Rio.
Ciao Stella

Brasil

Hola amigos

I am now in Sao Paulo after traveling for 48 hours. That was pure hell, first a train for 20 hoursm, very uncomfortable and not possible to put the seat down. Then we crossed the borders to Brazil and after only 2 hours break took the bus for 23 hours to Sao Paulo. Now me and Maya are staying for couple of days with our Brasilian friend Leonora. She is just a great person. The city is huge, 13 milion people and would be scary but we have Leonora to show us around. Now couple of days of Samba, parties and Brasilian men
Take care everybody

Hello my friends

I am now in my final stop in Bolivia, Santa Cruz. Me and Maya enthustically packed down all our warm clothes when we headed from Sucre to Samaipata (1600m), sure that it would be seriously warm cause Santa Cruz is supposed to be in the trophics. We were very excited about the heat after 3 cold months in the altoplano (high lands) at least 2500 meters above sea levels.

We took the bus to Santa Cruz and jumped off in Samaipata. We arrived at 4.00 in the night and the bus just dropped us off in the middle of the village at the highway. There was absolutly nobody in sight and we had no map. What to do? we waited for a while and then a very drunk local old men showed up and showed us the way to the hotel. It was unbelievably cold, but we thought hey it is just the night. WRONG. Couple of hours later we woke up beause it was so cold, maybe around 5 degrees or less. We were shivering so we took out our sleeping bags and all our well packed warm clothes. We asked around and apparently once a year cold winds from chile arrive and cool everything down, GREAT. It was bloody maximum 5 degrees in the day. Samapatia is a quit beautiful little town to visit, when it is warm. We were just misreable, decided not to go to the Ambora park because it would also be cold there, we also decided not to go to see Che´s last stand and just took the next bus to Santa Cruz, cause there is more cover from the winds and at least you can go out even if it is cold. So here we are. And it is a lot warmer.
Maya has been sick so i have been walking around, it is nice here, the look is trophical but the center is rich Bolivia. I phoned up Cinthia, a woman i met in Rurrenbarque 4 weeks ago, and we will visis her and her family tomorrow in their weekend cabin. Then hopefully me and Maya will go out tonight, i havent done that for a month now.
AND ON MONDAY I AM GOING TO BRAZIL
VERY VERY EXCITED ABOUT BRAZIL.
HELLO BEACHES. HELLO SAMBA HELLO BRASILIAN MEN
but first 36 hours travel, horrible.
We will take the train Santa Cruz-Quijarro, then cross the borders to Corumba and then Bus from Corumba to Sao Paulo
Take care everybody
